If you're traveling by car, start your journey from Tokyo. Take the Tohoku Expressway (E4) towards Utsunomiya. After approximately 100km, take the Yaita Interchange exit. Follow Route 293 for about 20 minutes until you reach Yaita. From Yaita, follow signs to Shimoisano. The Oshiraji Falls will be well marked, and you should look for parking facilities nearby. Note that parking may incur a fee, typically around 500 yen.
Public Transportation
To reach Oshiraji Falls via public transportation, start from Tokyo Station. Take the Shinkansen (bullet train) to Utsunomiya Station (approximately 50 minutes). From Utsunomiya Station, transfer to the JR Utsunomiya Line heading to Yaita Station (around 30 minutes). Once at Yaita Station, you will need to take a local bus or a taxi to reach Oshiraji Falls. The bus service is limited, so check the schedule in advance. Expect a taxi fare of around 1,500 yen for the 10-15 minute ride to the falls.
Walking
