Getting There

Train
From Kyoto Station, take the JR Nara Line to Nara Station. The journey takes about 45 minutes. Once you arrive at Nara Station, exit the station and head to the bus terminal located just outside the station.

At Nara Station, board the Nara Kotsu Bus bound for 'Wakakusa Yamayaki' or 'Todaiji Daibutsuden'. The bus ride should take around 20 minutes. Get off at the 'Wakakusa Yamayaki' stop.

After exiting the bus, follow the signs to Mount Wakakusa. The trailhead is a short 10-minute walk from the bus stop. Simply walk towards the large grassy area, and you will see the path leading up to the mountain. Enjoy the scenic views as you hike up!
