Walking
If you are in Nara Park, head towards the East Gate of the park. Once at the gate, continue on the main path leading towards the base of Mount Wakakusa. Follow the signs that indicate the trail for Mount Wakakusa. The hike will take about 30 minutes, and the path is well-marked. Enjoy the scenic views along the way, and once you reach the summit, you will have a stunning panoramic view of Nara.
Public Transportation
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kintetsu Nara Station. Once you arrive, exit the station and walk towards Nara Park, which is about a 15-minute walk. Enter the park and follow the signs to the East Gate. After reaching the East Gate, continue on the trail leading up to Mount Wakakusa. The hike to the summit will take approximately 30 minutes.
Bicycle Rental
Rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Nara Station. Cycle towards Nara Park, which is about a 10-minute ride. Once you reach the park, park your bicycle at the designated area and follow the main path to the East Gate. From the East Gate, take the hiking trail to Mount Wakakusa. The entire trip, including the hike, will take around 1.5 hours.
