If you're driving, head east on Route 42 from the center of Kumano Kodo. Continue for about 30 minutes until you reach Tanabe city. As you enter Tanabe, follow the signs for Hongu and Route 168. After approximately 10 minutes, turn left onto Hongucho Road. You will see the sign for Kumano Hongu Taisha. The shrine is located at 1110 Hongucho Hongu, and there is parking available nearby.

Public Transportation
To get to Kumano Hongu Taisha by public transport, take a train from Kii-Tanabe Station on the JR Kisei Line. Board the bus from Kii-Tanabe Station bound for Hongu Taisha (Hongu Taisha-mae). The bus ride will take about 40 minutes. Once you arrive, follow the signs to the shrine, which is located at 1110 Hongucho Hongu. The bus stops close to the entrance of the shrine.
