Getting There

  • Train

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Tokaido Line to Osaka Station. At Osaka Station, transfer to the JR Loop Line (Osaka Loop Line) and get off at Tennoji Station. Once at Tennoji Station, take the West Exit and walk for about 10 minutes to reach Shitenno-ji.

  • Subway

    From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line to Takeda Station. At Takeda Station, transfer to the Kintetsu Line and take an express train to Osaka Uehommachi Station. From there, transfer to the Kintetsu Nara Line and get off at Shitennoji-mae Yuhigaoka Station. Walk for about 5 minutes to reach Shitenno-ji.

  • Bus

    From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus #206 or #17 to Kyoto Tower. From there, walk to the nearest bus stop and transfer to the Osaka City Bus #88 towards Shitenno-ji. Get off at Shitenno-ji-mae Station, from which it is a short walk to the temple.
