Bus
From Kyoto Station, take the number 28 bus towards 'Higashiyama'. After about 40 minutes, get off at the 'Tenryuji-mae' stop. Once you get off the bus, walk about 5 minutes in the direction of the temple, and you'll see Tenryu-ji on your left.

From Kyoto Station, board the JR San-in Line towards 'Saga-Arashiyama'. After approximately 12 minutes, get off at 'Saga-Arashiyama' Station. From the station, it's about a 15-minute walk to Tenryu-ji. Head south on the main road until you reach the temple entrance.

If you're comfortable riding a bicycle, you can rent one from multiple rental shops around Kyoto. From the city center, head northwest towards Arashiyama. It should take you around 30 minutes to reach Tenryu-ji. Follow the signs towards Arashiyama, and once you get to the area, look for signs directing you to Tenryu-ji.
