    From Kyoto Station, take the Kyoto City Bus #205 or #50. The bus ride takes approximately 30 minutes. Get off at the 'Ryoanji-michi' bus stop. From there, walk about 10 minutes north along Ryoanji Goryonoshitacho street, and you'll reach Ryōan-ji at 13 Ryoanji Goryonoshitacho.

  • Train and Walk

    From Kyoto Station, take the JR Sanin Line (also known as the Sagano Line) towards Saga-Arashiyama. Get off at the 'Hanazono' station (about a 12-minute ride). From Hanazono Station, it is a 15-minute walk to Ryōan-ji. Head west on the main road, then turn left onto Ryoanji Goryonoshitacho street, and continue until you reach the temple.

  • Bicycle Rental

    If you're feeling adventurous, you can rent a bicycle from one of the rental shops near Kyoto Station. Ride north towards the Arashiyama area, following the designated cycling paths.
