    If you are near Kyoto Station, take Bus number 100 or 206 from the bus terminal in front of the station. Travel for about 15-20 minutes and get off at 'Gion' bus stop. From the bus stop, walk towards the Gion district, following the signs towards Shijo Avenue. Once you reach Shijo Avenue, turn left and walk straight until you reach the Shirakawa Canal.
