    Getting There

    Car

    If you are driving from Mikawa, head south on Route 25 towards Nara. After approximately 30 minutes, merge onto the Nishi-Meihan Expressway. Continue on the expressway for about 20 minutes, then take the exit for Nara. Follow the signs to Tōdai-ji, which will be approximately a 10-minute drive. Look for parking near the temple, but be aware that parking fees may apply, typically around 500-1000 JPY.

    For public transportation, take the Meitetsu Mikawa Line from Mikawa Station to Nagoya Station. From Nagoya Station, transfer to the JR Tōkaidō Shinkansen and ride to Kyoto Station. At Kyoto Station, transfer to the JR Nara Line and take the train to Nara Station. This journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival at Nara Station, you can either take a local bus (about 15 minutes) or walk to Tōdai-ji, which is approximately a 30-minute stroll through beautiful Nara Park.
