Walking
If you are in Nara Park, head towards the direction of the Nara National Museum. Once you reach the museum, look for signs directing you to Todaiji Temple. Follow the path leading to the temple, which will take you through a beautiful area of the park. As you walk, keep an eye out for the friendly deer that inhabit the area. After about a 15-minute walk, you will arrive at the Nandaimon (Great South Gate) of Todaiji, which is an impressive wooden gate marking the entrance to the temple complex.

Public Transportation (Bus)
From Nara Station, take the Nara Kotsu Bus bound for 'Todai-ji Daibutsuden (Great Buddha Hall)'. The bus ride takes approximately 10 minutes. Disembark at the 'Todai-ji Daibutsuden' stop. From there, it is a short 5-minute walk towards the Great South Gate (Nandaimon). You will see signs pointing towards Todaiji, guiding you along the path lined with beautiful scenery.

If you are near the Kofuku-ji Temple, you can walk to Todaiji Nandaimon. Head south from Kofuku-ji, following the signs to Nara Park.
