Car
If you're driving from central Mutsu, take Route 281 heading southwest. Follow the signs towards Aomori and continue on Route 4. After approximately 30 minutes, you will reach the vicinity of Aomori city. Look for signs directing you to Utou Shrine, located at 2 Chome-7-18 Yasukata, Aomori. The shrine is situated near the coast, and you should find parking available nearby. Note that depending on traffic conditions, the drive may take longer.
Public Transportation
To reach Utou Shrine by public transportation, start by taking a bus from Mutsu to Aomori City. Buses depart frequently from Mutsu Station, and the fare is approximately 1,000 yen. Once you arrive at Aomori Station, transfer to a local bus that goes towards Yasukata. The bus ride will take about 20 minutes, and the fare is around 400 yen. Get off at the stop closest to 2 Chome-7-18 Yasukata. From there, it is a short walk to the shrine.
Taxi
Alternatively, you can take a taxi directly from Mutsu to Utou Shrine. The taxi ride will take approximately 30 minutes and will cost around 5,000 to 7,000 yen depending on traffic and the exact starting point in Mutsu. This option is more convenient if you are traveling with luggage or prefer a direct route.
