Getting There

  • Train

    Start at Nagoya Station, board the Tōkaidō Line towards Toyohashi. Travel for approximately 30 minutes and disembark at Okazaki Station. From Okazaki Station, take the Aichi Loop Line towards Mikawa-Toyota and get off at the Yakushiyama Station, which is about a 10-minute ride. Once at Yakushiyama Station, exit the station and walk about 15 minutes to Shinpuku-ji. Follow the signs towards Shinpukujicho and head northeast; the temple will be on your left.

    From Nagoya Station, find the bus terminal located near the station. Look for a bus heading to Okazaki; several buses operate this route. The journey will take around 45 minutes. Get off at Okazaki Station. From there, catch a local bus heading to Yakushiyama. After about 10 minutes, disembark at the Yakushiyama stop. Walk for approximately 15 minutes towards Shinpukujicho, and you will reach the temple.
