Car
If you are driving from Nara, take the Route 163 towards Kyoto. Follow the signs for Kyoto and stay on this road for about 40 minutes. As you approach Kyoto, merge onto the Route 1 and continue following the signs for Higashiyama Ward. Once you reach the city center, look for parking options nearby. The Komyo-in Temple is located in the Higashiyama area at 15 Chome-809 Honmachi, which is a short walk from most parking facilities.
Public Transportation
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line to Kyoto Station. The journey takes approximately 45 minutes. Once at Kyoto Station, transfer to the Kyoto City Bus. You can take bus number 100 or 206 towards Higashiyama. Get off at the 'Higashiyama' stop, which is about a 10-minute walk from Komyo-in Temple. Head north on Higashioji-dori and turn onto Honmachi where the temple is located.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, consider taking a taxi from your location in Nara directly to Komyo-in Temple. The drive should take around 40 minutes depending on traffic. Provide the driver with the address: 15 Chome-809 Honmachi, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, 605-0981.
