Train
From Nara Station, take the Kintetsu Nara Line towards Kintetsu Tenri Station. Alight at Yamato-Taisha Station (approximately 25 minutes). Once you exit the station, head south on Route 169 for about 1.5 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 24. Turn left onto Route 24 and continue for about 2 kilometers. You will find signage leading you to Taima-dera on your right.
Bus
From Nara Park, take the Nara Kotsu Bus bound for Katsuragi. The bus ride takes about 40 minutes. Get off at the Taima-dera stop. Once you disembark, follow the signs that direct you towards Taima-dera, which is just a short walk of about 500 meters.
Taxi
If you prefer a more direct route, you can take a taxi from Nara city center. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Taima-dera in Katsuragi. The journey will take about 30 minutes depending on traffic.
Walking
For those who enjoy walking, you can start from the Nara Park area. Head towards the Nara National Museum and follow the path to the east towards a residential area. Continue southeast for approximately 5 kilometers, following signs towards Katsuragi. This scenic walk will take about 1.5 to 2 hours, so wear comfortable shoes and enjoy the surroundings.
