Getting There

Walking
If you're starting from Nara Park, head southeast towards the Nara National Museum. Once you reach the museum, turn left onto Kankiji Street. Continue walking straight for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by the Naramachi district, famous for its traditional wooden buildings. Keep going until you reach a T-junction. Turn right onto Gojocho Street, and Toshodai-ji will be on your left after about 500 meters.

From Nara Station, take bus number 70 or 72 towards 'Toshodai-ji'. The bus ride will take approximately 15 minutes. Get off at the 'Toshodai-ji' bus stop. After getting off, walk straight for about 5 minutes, and you will arrive at the entrance of Toshodai-ji.

Bicycle
If you rented a bicycle, start at Nara Park and head south towards the Naramachi area. Continue along the road past the Nara National Museum, then follow the directions for walking. The route is bike-friendly and takes about 10-15 minutes from the park, depending on your speed.
