Getting There

Public Transport

From Kyoto Station, take the Karasuma Subway Line to Kitaoji Station. Transfer to Kyoto City Bus routes 4, 46, or 67 and get off at the Kamigamo Jinja-mae bus stop. From there, it's approximately a 9-minute walk east to Ōta Shrine. The bus fare within the city is a flat rate of ¥230 for adults and ¥120 for children. Consider a Kyoto Subway and Bus 1-Day Pass for ¥1,100 if you plan to visit multiple attractions.

If you are already visiting Kamigamo Shrine, Ōta Shrine is located approximately 800 meters (about a 10-minute walk) to the east. Follow the signs from Kamigamo Shrine. There are no entrance fees for the shrine itself, but during the iris blooming season (mid-May), there is a cooperation fee of ¥300 to view the kakitsubata.
