    From the direction of Kobe, follow the Kobe-Awaji-Naruto Expressway (E28) across the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. The Awaji Service Area is directly accessible from the expressway, just after crossing the bridge onto Awaji Island. Follow the signs for 'Awaji Service Area'. Note that tolls apply for using the Akashi Kaikyo Bridge. Tolls vary depending on vehicle type, but a regular passenger car can expect to pay around ¥2,300.

  • Public Transport

    From Kobe or Osaka, take an express bus to Awaji Island. Many buses stop directly at the Awaji Service Area. From Kobe Sannomiya, a one-way bus ticket to Sumoto on Awaji Island costs approximately ¥2,270 and takes about 1.5 hours. Once on Awaji Island, local buses can be used to reach other destinations, but a car is recommended for exploring the island.
