Getting There

Train
If you are in Osaka, take the JR Kyoto Line from Osaka Station to Kyoto Station. The journey takes about 30 minutes. Once you arrive at Kyoto Station, follow the signs to the Karasuma Subway Line and take the subway towards Kokusaikaikan Station. After 4 stops, get off at Sanjo Keihan Station. Exit the station and head east on Sanjo Street for about 600 meters until you reach the intersection with Imakumano Tsuruginomiyacho. Turn left and walk for another 300 meters to reach Tsurugi Shrine, which will be on your right.

Bus
From Osaka, you can also take a highway bus to Kyoto. Buses leave from various terminals in Osaka, including Osaka Station and Namba. The trip takes approximately 1 hour and will drop you off at Kyoto Station. From Kyoto Station, board bus number 100 or 206 towards Gion. Get off at the 'Gion' stop, then walk east along Shijo Street for about 800 meters until you reach the intersection with Imakumano Tsuruginomiyacho. Turn left and walk about 300 meters to Tsurugi Shrine, which will be on your right.

Walking
If you are already in the Higashiyama area of Kyoto, you can walk to Tsurugi Shrine. Start at Gion, and walk north along Hanamikoji Street. Turn left onto Shijo Street and continue until you reach the intersection with Imakumano Tsuruginomiyacho. Turn right and walk approximately 300 meters to Tsurugi Shrine, located on your right.
