Getting There

  • Walking

    If you are in the Higashiyama area, the Monument of Umamachi Air Raid is accessible by foot. Start at the nearest major landmark, such as the Kiyomizu-dera Temple. From Kiyomizu-dera, head northeast along Kiyomizu Sannenzaka Street until you reach the intersection at Kiyomizu Sannenzaka and Matsubara Dori. Turn right onto Matsubara Dori and continue walking for about 500 meters. You will pass several shops and cafés along the way. Once you reach the intersection with Tokiwacho, turn left. The monument is located at the end of Tokiwacho, on your right. The entire journey is approximately 15-20 minutes on foot.
