    If you are in the Higashiyama area, you can easily walk to the Kyoto National Museum. Start by heading south on any main street, such as Shijo-dori or Sanjo-dori, until you reach the Kamo River. Once you reach the river, turn east and follow the riverbank until you spot the Keihan Line train tracks. Continue walking along the river, and look for the directions to Sanjusangendo Temple, which is located nearby. The museum is located just a short walk from there. Turn onto Chayacho Street and walk until you see the museum on your left at 527 Chayacho, Higashiyama Ward, Kyoto, 605-0931.

  • Public Transport - Bus

    From Higashiyama, you can also take a bus to get to the Kyoto National Museum. Look for the nearest bus stop and catch either the Kyoto City Bus #100 or #206. These buses are convenient for tourists and will take you towards the museum. Make sure to get off at the 'Kyoto National Museum' stop, which is directly in front of the museum. The bus fare is approximately 230 yen for a single ride. After getting off, you will find the museum entrance just a short walk away.
