Getting there

Car

If you're driving, start from central Osumi and head east on Route 220. After about 20 kilometers, take the exit towards Takarabecho. Continue following the signs for Takarabecho, and after another 10 kilometers, you will reach Mizonokuchi Cave, located at 4907 Takarabecho Shimotakarabe, Soo, Kagoshima 899-4103. There is free parking available near the entrance.

Public Transportation

To reach Mizonokuchi Cave via public transportation, take a bus from Osumi to Soo City. Once you arrive at Soo City, transfer to the local bus heading towards Takarabecho. The bus ride will take approximately 40 minutes. After getting off at the Takarabecho stop, it's about a 15-minute walk to Mizonokuchi Cave. Be sure to check the bus schedules in advance to plan your trip accordingly.

Walking

If you find yourself in the vicinity of Takarabecho, you can walk to Mizonokuchi Cave. From Takarabecho Station, head southeast on Route 220, then take a left onto the road leading to the cave. The walk is approximately 1.5 kilometers and should take around 20 minutes. Ensure to wear comfortable shoes as the path may be uneven.
