    From Sapporo Station, take the Tozai Subway Line to Maruyama Koen Station. From there, exit at West Exit 3 and follow the signs for a pleasant 15-minute walk through Maruyama Park to the zoo. Subway fare is approximately ¥220-¥250. Alternatively, from Sapporo Station Bus Terminal, take the Jotetsu Bus (numbers 14, 15, or 16) to Maruyama Bus Terminal, then a short walk to the zoo. Bus fare is approximately ¥220-¥250.

  • Taxi

    Taxis are readily available throughout Sapporo. A taxi ride from Sapporo Station to Maruyama Zoo takes approximately 20 minutes and costs between ¥2,100 and ¥2,600. Taxi fares in Sapporo start at ¥670 for the first 1,463 meters, with an additional ¥80 for every 276 meters. Note that a 20% evening surcharge applies between 10 PM and 5 AM.

    Maruyama Zoo is accessible by car. Parking is available at Maruyama Park, with access to the zoo via the west gate. Parking fees apply. The First Parking Lot and the Second Parking Lot are available, but the Second Parking Lot is closed from November 4 to April 20. Payment is cash only. Parking fees are charged per vehicle.
