Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, make your way to Ozu City in Ehime Prefecture. From Matsuyama, take the Matsuyama Expressway towards Ozu. Use Route 56 and then Route 33 to reach the coast. Once in Ozu, follow the signs to Nagahamacho Aoshima. You will need to find a parking spot in the area; public parking is available near the ferry terminal.

Public Transportation - Train

If you prefer public transportation, take a train from Matsuyama to Ozu Station. The trip takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Ozu Station, transfer to a local bus heading towards Nagahamacho Aoshima. The bus ride is approximately 30 minutes. Make sure to check the bus schedule ahead of time, as services may be limited.

Public Transportation - Ferry

After reaching Nagahamacho Aoshima by car or bus, you will need to take a ferry to Ao Island. The ferry terminal is located at Nagahamacho Aoshima.
