Car
If you're driving from any location in Shikoku, take the highway to the Shikoku Expressway. Follow signs towards the Matsuyama area, then head towards the Seto Ohashi Bridge to cross over to Honshu. After crossing the bridge, continue on the Sanyo Expressway towards Hiroshima. Take the exit for Hatsukaichi and follow the signs for Miyajima. There is a parking lot available on the mainland at the ferry terminal, which costs around 1,000 yen per day. From the parking area, walk to the ferry terminal.
Public Transportation - Train and Ferry
Start by taking a train to Hiroshima from your current location in Shikoku. You can use the Shinkansen (bullet train) for faster travel; it will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours to reach Hiroshima Station from Takamatsu Station, for example. Once at Hiroshima Station, transfer to the JR Sanyo Line and take a local train to Miyajimaguchi Station. This journey takes about 30 minutes. From Miyajimaguchi Station, follow the signs to the ferry terminal, where you can catch a ferry to Itsukushima. The ferry ride takes about 10 minutes and costs approximately 360 yen one way.

If you prefer to travel by bus, find a highway bus service from various locations in Shikoku to Hiroshima. The bus ride may take around 3 to 4 hours, depending on your starting point. Upon arrival in Hiroshima, take a local bus or tram to reach the ferry terminal at Miyajimaguchi. Once there, purchase a ticket for the ferry, which costs around 360 yen and takes about 10 minutes to reach Itsukushima.
