Getting there

Car

If you are traveling by car, start from Takamatsu City, which is a central location in Shikoku. Take Route 11 towards the city of Kagawa. Continue on Route 11 until you reach the Kasaoka area. From there, follow signs to Kasaoka Port. The drive should take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours depending on traffic conditions. Once you arrive at Kasaoka Port, you will need to take a ferry to Manabe Island. Check the ferry schedule in advance as it may vary throughout the day. The ferry ride takes about 30 minutes and costs approximately 1,000 yen one way.

Public Transportation

For those using public transportation, start your journey at Takamatsu Station. Take a train on the JR Seto-Naikai Line towards Okayama. This journey typically takes around 1 hour. Upon arrival at Okayama Station, transfer to a local train heading towards Kasaoka Station, which takes about 30 minutes. From Kasaoka Station, you can take a taxi or local bus to Kasaoka Port, which is approximately a 10-15 minute ride. Once at Kasaoka Port, board the ferry to Manabe Island, which takes about 30 minutes and costs around 1,000 yen.
