Car
From Tango, get on Route 178 and head southwest toward the city of Himeji. The drive will take approximately 1 hour and 30 minutes, covering around 90 kilometers. Follow the signs for Himeji as you merge onto the Sanyo Expressway (E2) at the junction. Take the Himeji West exit (Himeji Nishi IC). After exiting, continue on Route 2 toward Himeji City center. Himeji Castle is located at 68 Honmachi, Himeji, Hyogo 670-0012. There is paid parking available near the castle, which can range from 500 to 1,000 yen for a few hours.

Public Transportation
If you prefer public transportation, start by taking a train from Tango to Himeji. You can take the JR Sanin Line from either Tango Station or Nishi-Tango Station to Toyooka Station, and then transfer to the JR Sanyo Line. From Toyooka, take the express train towards Himeji Station. The total journey may take around 2 hours, including transfer times. Once at Himeji Station, exit the station and follow the signs for the bus terminal, or you can walk to Himeji Castle, which is about a 20-minute walk (1.5 kilometers) from the station. Alternatively, you can take a local bus from Himeji Station to the castle area, which typically costs around 200 yen.
