If you're traveling by car, you can reach Mototaki Waterfall from Akita City by taking the Akita Expressway. Drive northwest and take the Nikaho IC exit. From there, follow Route 7 north until you reach the signs for Mototaki Waterfall in Nikaho. The waterfall is located about 20 minutes from the Nikaho IC. There is parking available near the waterfall.

Public Transportation
To reach Mototaki Waterfall via public transportation, take the JR Uetsu Line from Akita Station to Nihon-kai Shokudo Station. This journey takes approximately 1 hour. From Nihon-kai Shokudo, you can catch the local bus that heads towards Mototaki Waterfall. The bus ride will take around 30 minutes, and be sure to check the bus schedule in advance as services may be limited. Bring some cash for the bus fare, which is typically around 500 yen.
