Getting There

  • Train

    To reach Gōtoku-ji Gate, first make your way to Shinjuku Station, one of the major train hubs in Tokyo. From Shinjuku Station, take the Odakyu Line towards Odawara. After approximately 15 minutes, get off at Gōtokuji Station. Once you exit the station, turn left and walk straight for about 5 minutes. You will find Gōtoku-ji Gate located on your right at 2 Chome-19-15 Gotokuji, Setagaya City.

  • Subway

    If you are near Tokyo Station, take the Marunouchi Line to Shinjuku Station. From Shinjuku Station, transfer to the Odakyu Line and follow the same instructions as above, heading towards Gōtokuji Station. After getting off, walk left for 5 minutes to reach Gōtoku-ji Gate.

  • Bus

    From Shibuya Station, take the Keio Bus bound for Gōtokuji. The bus ride takes about 30 minutes. Get off at the Gōtokuji stop, and once you disembark, walk a short distance (about 3 minutes) to reach Gōtoku-ji Gate, which will be on your left.

  • Walking

    If you are staying in the Setagaya area, you can reach Gōtoku-ji Gate by walking. Look for Gotokuji Temple signs, and follow the pedestrian paths leading to the temple. The gate is located at 2 Chome-19-15 Gotokuji, Setagaya City, and is easily accessible by foot from the surrounding neighborhoods.
