Car
If you're traveling by car from Tosa to Himeji Castle, you will first want to head northwest on Route 56 towards Kochi. Follow the signs for the Kochi Expressway and merge onto it. Continue on the Kochi Expressway for approximately 1.5 hours until you reach the exit for the Sanyo Expressway (E2). Take the Sanyo Expressway towards Himeji and exit at Himeji East (Himeji Higashi). After exiting, follow the signs to Himeji Castle, which is approximately a 10-minute drive. The castle is located at 68 Honmachi, Himeji, Hyogo 670-0012. Parking is available near the castle, but may incur a fee.
Public Transportation
To reach Himeji Castle via public transportation, start by taking a local train from Tosa to Kochi Station. Once at Kochi Station, transfer to the JR Shikoku line and take a train to Okayama Station. At Okayama Station, switch to the JR Sanyo line towards Himeji. The direct train ride from Okayama to Himeji takes about 1 hour. Once you arrive at Himeji Station, it is approximately a 15-minute walk to Himeji Castle. Follow the signs for Himeji Castle, or use a mapping application for directions. Alternatively, you can take a bus from Himeji Station to Himeji Castle, which may incur a small cost.
