Getting There

Car
From central Bungo, head southeast on Route 10 towards Taketa. Continue on Route 10 for approximately 15 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 57. Take the exit onto Route 57 and follow the signs for Taketa. After about 5 kilometers, turn left onto Route 212. Continue for about 3 kilometers, and then turn right onto a smaller road leading to Kariono. After about 1 kilometer, you will see signs for Ameushino Falls. There is parking available near the falls.

Public Transportation
Start at Bungo Nakamura Station. Take the train on the JR Kyudai Main Line heading towards Oita. Get off at Taketa Station, which takes about 30 minutes. From Taketa Station, take bus number 22 towards Kariono. The bus ride will take around 15 minutes. Get off at the Kariono stop. From there, it's about a 20-minute walk to Ameushino Falls. Follow the signs for the falls, which will lead you along the scenic route.
