If you are driving from Yufuin, head northwest on Route 210. After approximately 10 minutes, you will see signs for Mount Yufu. Turn left onto the road leading to the West Trailhead, which is clearly marked. There is a small parking area available near the trailhead, which is free of charge.

To reach the West Trailhead using public transportation, start at Yufuin Station. Take a local bus heading towards 'Miyama' or 'Yufu' and inform the driver you want to get off at the 'Yufuincho Kawakami' stop.
