Getting There

  • Public Transport

    From Yamagata Station, take a Yamako bus to Zao Onsen Bus Terminal. From there, transfer to the Zao Chuo Ropeway. Take the ropeway to Torikabuto Station, then transfer to the Chuo Daiichi Lift (Natsuyama Lift). From the top of the lift, it's approximately a 15-minute walk to Dokko Marsh. Bus fare from Yamagata Station to Zao Onsen Bus Terminal is around ¥1000. A round trip ticket on the Zao Chuo Ropeway is ¥1800 for adults and ¥900 for children. The Chuo Daiichi Lift costs an additional fee.

  • Walking

    From the top of the Zao Chuo Ropeway at Torikabuto Station, follow the well-marked walking course for approximately 15 minutes to Dokko Marsh. The trail is relatively easy, but be prepared for some uneven terrain. No costs are associated with walking to the marsh from the ropeway station.
