If you are traveling from Independence, take US-400 W towards Coffeyville, then merge onto US-69 N towards Fort Scott. Continue on US-69 N, then take the exit for I-70 W towards Topeka. As you approach the Kansas City area, take exit 224B to merge onto I-635 N towards Leavenworth. Follow I-635 N until you reach the exit for KS-7 N. Take KS-7 N, and follow the signs to Atchison. Once in Atchison, follow local signs to Historic Fort Leavenworth, located at Atchison, KS 66002. Note: There may be tolls on some highways, so keep an eye out for toll booths.
