Getting There

• Car

  If you are traveling by car from any location in the Assy Plateau, start by heading towards the city of Almaty. You can take the A2 highway, which connects the Assy Plateau to Almaty. Once you reach Almaty, follow signs for the Altyn Emel National Park. The park is located approximately 250 km from Almaty. After entering Almaty, navigate to Naaui Street (Науаи көшесі) and follow it to the main entrance of Altyn Emel National Park. Ensure that your vehicle is in good condition, as the roads leading to the park can be rough in some areas.

• Public Transportation

  To reach Altyn Emel National Park using public transportation, first take a bus or a train from Assy Plateau to Almaty. Buses from Assy Plateau to Almaty are frequent; you can catch one from the main bus station. Once you arrive in Almaty, head to the main bus terminal and look for buses heading towards the Altyn Emel National Park. Make sure to inquire about the bus schedules and ticket prices, as they can vary. As of now, the bus fare is approximately 1500 KZT. Once you reach the park entrance, you may need to arrange for a taxi or a local guide to take you further into the park, as public transport does not usually cover the interior areas.

• Taxi or Ride-Sharing

  If you're looking for a more direct route to Altyn Emel National Park after reaching Almaty, consider using a taxi or a ride-sharing service. From the city center, you can book a taxi directly to the park entrance. The drive takes around 3 to 4 hours, depending on traffic and road conditions. The fare for a taxi could range from 7000 to 12000 KZT. Alternatively, you can use ride-sharing apps available in Almaty to find a driver willing to take you to the park.
