From Kokshetau, continue on the A1 until you reach the city of Astana (Nur-Sultan). Once in Astana, take the A2 highway heading southwest towards the border of Kazakhstan and Russia. Cross the border at the nearest point, which will lead you into Russia, and continue towards the city of Samara. From Samara, drive south until you reach Azerbaijan's border. Note that you will need to check for any visa requirements and potential fees for crossing borders, as well as prepare for a long journey that might take several days depending on stops and driving speed.

For those preferring public transportation, begin your journey at the Petropavl bus station and take a bus to Astana (Nur-Sultan). The bus fare is approximately 3,000 KZT.
