Getting There

  • Bus

    If you are starting from downtown Frankfort, you can catch the Frankfort Transit bus service. Board the bus at the Main Street stop near the state capitol. Take the bus route towards the Frankfort State Office Building. After approximately 15-20 minutes, request to get off at the stop closest to the intersection of US-60 and Sportsman's Lane. From there, you will need to walk about 0.5 miles to the Salato Wildlife Education Center, which is located at 1 Sportsman's Lane. Follow Sportsman's Lane as it curves to the right, and you'll see the center on your left.

    If you are in the downtown area, you can walk to the Salato Wildlife Education Center. Start at the Kentucky State Capitol building and head southeast on Capital Avenue. Continue straight until you reach the intersection of US-60. Turn right onto US-60 and follow it for about 1 mile. When you reach Sportsman's Lane, turn left. The Salato Wildlife Education Center will be on your left at 1 Sportsman's Lane. The total walking distance is approximately 1.5 miles, which should take about 30-40 minutes.
