If you are driving from central locations in Mississippi Plateau, head southeast on Route 62 towards the I-75 S ramp. Merge onto I-75 S and continue for about 20 miles. Take exit 192 for I-471 N toward Newport. Follow I-471 N for approximately 2 miles, then take exit 5 toward Newport. Keep right at the fork and follow signs for Riverboat Row. Continue straight for about 0.5 miles until you reach 1 Levee Way in Newport, KY. The Purple People Bridge will be directly in front of you.

You can take the TANK (Transit Authority of Northern Kentucky) bus route that heads towards Newport. Depending on your starting point, you may need to transfer at a central hub such as the Covington Transit Center. After transferring, board a bus heading towards Newport. Once you arrive at the Newport stop, walk approximately 0.3 miles south along Riverboat Row until you reach 1 Levee Way, where the Purple People Bridge is located.
