Getting There

Walking
Start at the Kisumu Central Bus Station. From the bus station, head south on Oginga Odinga Street. Continue straight for about 1 kilometer until you reach the junction with the Kisumu-Kakamega Road (A1). Cross the road and continue walking towards the Kisumu Impala Sanctuary, which is on your left. Follow the signs to the sanctuary and after about 500 meters, you will see a sign for Kisian Hills. Take the path on your right that leads into the hills.

Bicycle
Rent a bicycle from one of the local rental shops near the Kisumu Central Bus Station. Start your journey heading south on Oginga Odinga Street. Continue until you reach the Kisumu-Kakamega Road (A1). Turn left onto the road and cycle for about 1 kilometer. You will see the Kisumu Impala Sanctuary on your left side. Continue cycling past the sanctuary, then take the path to the right towards Kisian Hills. Enjoy the scenic ride as you approach the destination.

Matatu (shared taxi)
From the Kisumu Central Bus Station, walk to the nearby matatu stage. Look for a matatu heading to Kisian or Kisumu West. Get on the matatu and pay the fare. The ride will take about 15-20 minutes. Once you reach the Kisian market area, alight and ask locals for directions to Kisian Hills. It is a short walk from there, following the signs towards the hills. The locals will guide you directly to the entrance.
