If you're driving, start from Embu town. Head southwest on the Embu-Kangaru road (B6) for about 10 kilometers. Look for signs pointing to Iveche waterfall, as the road will fork. Take the left fork onto a dirt road, and continue for about 5 kilometers. The road may be bumpy, so drive carefully. You will reach a small parking area near the waterfall entrance. Parking is usually free, but ensure your vehicle is parked safely.
Public Transportation
To reach Iveche waterfall using public transportation, take a matatu (shared taxi) from Embu town heading towards Kangaru. The fare should be around 50-100 KES. Once you reach the Kangaru area, ask the driver to drop you at the junction leading to Iveche waterfall. From there, you can either walk (approximately 2 kilometers) or hire a local boda boda (motorcycle taxi) for about 200-300 KES to take you directly to the waterfall entrance. Be sure to negotiate the fare before starting your ride.
Hiking
If you're up for an adventure, you can hike to Iveche waterfall from the nearest road access point. After being dropped off at the junction, follow the marked trail for about 30-40 minutes. The trail can be steep and slippery, so wear sturdy shoes and be prepared for a bit of a workout. Along the way, enjoy the lush vegetation and possibly spot some wildlife.
