    Car

    If you're driving, start from Kisumu, a major city in the Nyanza Region. Head southwest on the A1 road towards Homa Bay. After approximately 35 km, take the exit onto the B2 road towards Mbita. Continue for about 15 km until you reach the town of Mbita. From Mbita, follow the signs to the Thimlich Ohinga Historic Site, which is approximately 20 km away. The site is located at 485G+H33, Ouma's, and is marked on most GPS systems. Ensure your vehicle is in good condition, as some roads may be rough.

    Public Transport

    To reach Thimlich Ohinga by public transport from Kisumu, take a matatu (shared minibus) heading to Homa Bay. The fare is around 150 KES. Upon arriving in Homa Bay, transfer to another matatu heading towards Mbita. This journey will cost approximately 100 KES. Once in Mbita, you can hire a boda boda (motorcycle taxi) to take you the remaining 20 km to Thimlich Ohinga for about 500 KES. Ensure you negotiate the fare beforehand.
