If you are driving from the center of Bokeo Province, head west on Route 13 towards the town of Pak Beng. Continue on Route 13 for approximately 40 kilometers until you reach the junction with Route 1155. Turn left onto Route 1155 and follow the signs for Chiang Khong. After about 20 kilometers, you will see the Khong River Viewpoint on your right. Parking may be available nearby.

To reach Khong River Viewpoint via public transportation, start by taking a local bus from Bokeo Province to the town of Pak Beng. This bus ride typically takes around 1.5 to 2 hours. Once you arrive in Pak Beng, find a bus heading to Chiang Khong, which will also take about 1.5 to 2 hours. Upon arrival in Chiang Khong, you can either take a tuk-tuk or a motorbike taxi to the viewpoint, which is approximately 15 minutes away. Ensure to negotiate the fare beforehand, which should be around 20,000 to 30,000 LAK.

If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi from your location in Bokeo Province to Khong River Viewpoint. Make sure to agree on the fare before starting your journey. The total distance is approximately 60 kilometers and will take around 1.5 hours to reach the viewpoint. Expect to pay between 300,000 to 400,000 LAK for the one-way trip.
