Car
If you are driving from anywhere in Bokeo Province, head towards the main road leading to Luang Prabang. Follow Route 13 North for approximately 150 kilometers. Once you arrive in Luang Prabang, look for signs directing you to the city center. Phousi Hill is located in the heart of Luang Prabang, near the night market and the Royal Palace Museum. There are parking areas nearby where you can leave your car.
Public Transportation (Bus)
To reach Phousi Hill via public transportation, find a local bus service that operates from your location to Luang Prabang. Buses frequently depart from major towns in Bokeo Province. Once you arrive at the Luang Prabang bus station, you can either take a tuk-tuk or walk to the city center. Phousi Hill is about 2 kilometers from the bus station. It's a short walk, and you can follow the main road towards the city center, where you will see Phousi Hill rising above the surrounding buildings.
Tuk-tuk
If you prefer a more comfortable option, you can hire a tuk-tuk from your hotel or a nearby location in Luang Prabang. Simply tell the driver you want to go to Phousi Hill, and they will take you directly to the foot of the hill. The cost for a tuk-tuk ride can vary, but expect to pay around 20,000 to 30,000 LAK (approximately 2 to 3 USD).
Walking
Once you arrive in the city center of Luang Prabang, Phousi Hill is easily accessible on foot. From the Royal Palace Museum, head towards the night market and look for the signs pointing to Phousi Hill. The hill is about a 10-15 minute walk from the central area. Wear comfortable shoes as the trail leading up to the top consists of steps and can be steep.
