Car
If you're driving, start from the capital of Khammouane Province, Thakhek. Head north on Route 13 towards the town of Mahaxai. Continue for approximately 60 kilometers until you reach the intersection with Route 12. Turn left onto Route 12 and follow the signs towards Xiangliab. After about 30 kilometers, you will arrive in the vicinity of Xiangliab. Look for the coordinates FWH7+M4 on your GPS, which will lead you to Thabanthok.
Public Transportation
To use public transportation, start at the Thakhek bus station, where you can catch a local bus headed towards Mahaxai. The fare is typically around 15,000 LAK. After reaching Mahaxai, transfer to a minibus or tuk-tuk to Xiangliab. The cost for this leg should be about 30,000 LAK. Once in Xiangliab, inform the driver that you want to go to Thabanthok, which is located at FWH7+M4. A short ride should get you to your destination.
Tuk-tuk
If you are already in Xiangliab, you can hire a tuk-tuk for a direct ride to Thabanthok. Negotiate the fare in advance; it should be around 20,000 LAK for a one-way trip. Provide the driver with the coordinates FWH7+M4 to ensure they know where to take you.
