Getting There

  • Car

    If you're traveling by car, start your journey from the capital of Khammouane Province, Thakhek. Head northwest on Route 12 (also known as the Thakhek Loop), following the road for approximately 80 kilometers. After about an hour, you will reach the intersection with Route 16. Turn left onto Route 16 and continue for about 25 kilometers. Keep an eye out for the signs indicating Xe Bang Fai Cave, which will be on your right. The cave is located at 9RFQ+5GX, Khammouane Province, and there is a small parking area available.

  • Public Transportation

    For those using public transportation, you can take a bus from Thakhek to the nearby town of Nong Bok. Buses leave regularly from the Thakhek bus station and the fare is approximately 25,000 LAK (about $2.50 USD). The journey takes about 1.5 hours. Once you arrive in Nong Bok, you can hire a tuk-tuk or a motorcycle taxi to take you to Xe Bang Fai Cave, which is about 15 kilometers away.
