Getting There

  • Car

    From Phakse, head south on Route 13. After approximately 30 kilometers, you'll reach the junction for Route 18. Turn left onto Route 18 and continue for about 15 kilometers until you reach the town of Don Det. From Don Det, you can take a ferry to Si Phan Don, which is a popular tourist destination comprised of several islands in the Mekong River.

  • Bus

    You can catch a bus from Phakse to Nakasong, which operates regularly throughout the day. The journey takes about 1-1.5 hours and costs around 20,000 LAK. Once you arrive in Nakasong, you will need to transfer to a boat service that takes you to Si Phan Don. Boat tickets cost approximately 50,000 LAK for the short ride to the islands.

  • Taxi or Tuk-Tuk

    If you prefer a more direct route, you can hire a taxi or tuk-tuk from Phakse to Nakasong, which will cost you around 200,000 to 300,000 LAK for the trip, depending on negotiation. Upon arriving in Nakasong, you can then take a boat to Si Phan Don as mentioned earlier.
