Car
If you are traveling by car from Phakse city center, head east on Route 13 towards the Mekong River. After approximately 2 km, you will reach a roundabout. Take the first exit onto Route 13A, which will lead you towards the riverfront area. Continue on Route 13A for about 5 km until you reach a fork in the road. Stay to the left to remain on Route 13A. After another 3 km, you should see signage for Sunset Beach. Turn left onto the unpaved road leading to the beach area. There is no entry fee, but be prepared for a short drive on a dirt road.
Public Transportation
To reach Sunset Beach using public transportation, start at the main bus station in Phakse. Look for a local 'songthaew' (shared taxi) heading towards the Mekong River or any vehicle that mentions Sunset Beach or nearby attractions. The fare is typically around 10,000 to 20,000 LAK (Lao Kip) per person. The ride will take approximately 30 minutes. Ask the driver to drop you off at the nearest point to Sunset Beach. From there, it may require a short walk (about 15 minutes) along a dirt path to reach the beach.
