Car
If you're driving from Phakse, head north on Route 13 for about 30 kilometers. Look for the signs pointing towards Tad Lo Waterfall. Once you reach the turnoff, take a left onto Route 20 and continue for another 15 kilometers until you see signs for the waterfall. There is a small parking area near the entrance.
Public Transportation (Bus)
From Phakse, take a local bus heading to Salavan. Make sure to inform the driver that you want to get off at Tad Lo. The bus will drop you off at the junction near the entrance to the waterfall. From there, it’s about a 2-kilometer walk to the waterfall itself. Be sure to check the bus schedule as service may not be frequent, and the journey will take approximately 1.5 to 2 hours.
Motorbike Rental
Renting a motorbike is a popular option for reaching Tad Lo Waterfall. From Phakse, take Route 13 north for 30 kilometers, then turn left onto Route 20. Continue for 15 kilometers until you reach the waterfall. The ride is scenic, but be sure to check the condition of the roads, and wear a helmet. Rental costs are usually around 100,000 LAK (approximately $10 USD) per day.
Taxi
For a more comfortable ride, consider hiring a taxi or a tuk-tuk from Phakse. Negotiate the fare beforehand, but expect to pay around 200,000 to 300,000 LAK (approximately $20 to $30 USD) for a round trip. The driver will wait for you while you explore the waterfall, making this option convenient for those traveling in groups.
