Vientiane has a public bus service that can take you to Patuxay. Public buses like line #14 and #29 stop near the monument. The Airport Shuttle bus goes to the Central Bus Station, and from there it is possible to go to Patuxay. A one-way ticket on the Vientiane City Bus costs around 5,000 LAK.
