Start your journey at the center of Phonsavan, where the main market (Phonsavan Market) is located. From the market, head south on Road 7 (also known as Route 7) for about 1 kilometer. You will pass by local shops and eateries. Continue on this road until you reach a large roundabout. At the roundabout, take the second exit to stay on Route 7. After about 500 meters, you will see the Vietnamese War Monument on your left side, marked with a distinct structure and often surrounded by local flora.

If you prefer cycling, rent a bicycle from one of the local shops near Phonsavan Market. Start by pedaling south on Road 7. It’s a straight route, and you will enjoy the scenery along the way. After approximately 1 kilometer, look for the large roundabout. Take the second exit to remain on Route 7. Continue cycling for another 500 meters until you see the Vietnamese War Monument on your left. The ride is relatively easy and a great way to explore the area.
