This historical landmark offers a space for contemplation and remembrance, inviting visitors to reflect on the profound impact of the atrocities that occurred here during World War II. Kuldīga, a town with a rich history, had a vibrant Jewish population that constituted 26% of its residents before the war. The first Jewish settlement in Kuldīga began at the end of the 17th century. By the end of the 19th century, the Jewish community had become an integral part of the town, contributing to its commerce, trade, and culture.
